“Great cooking is about being inspired by the simple things around you–fresh markets, various spices. It doesn’t necessarily have to look fancy.” – G. Garvin
The place of our birth and upbringing helps in creating our identity, building our personality, our likes and dislikes… and deep down, making us realize who we really are. Having been born and raised in Mumbai, India, the array of food this city presents you with is enough reason to make you a food enthusiast. Born to a Goan mother and a Malayali father introduced me to cuisines that were nothing short of a palatte paradise.
In the growing years, food symbolized cravings and comfort. But as time time passed, the understanding of the different ingredients, cultural dishes from across the globe, tastes, fragrances, hues and the amalgam of all that leading to create a wonderous dish began to gradually become a passion. My father has been a cook since over 35 years and my mother a homechef, together they taught me their cuisines, tips and tricks and much more that I’m going to write about with each passing day.
The idea is to write each day about all that I know, my experiments and beyond.
So here’s to a new start… *CLINK*
